Greetings Priceless Campers,

We met for four hours last night and have been anxiously checking the fire and highway conditions near Belden. We’ve also been on and off the phone with all relevant officials trying to get the most information possible.

It is with great sadness that we bring you the following news: We will not be having Priceless 2008 this weekend in Belden.

In the end, the choice wasn’t ours, as Highway 70 remains closed and an evacuation order remains in place for the community of Belden. We send positive thoughts and well wishes to all of the affected communities in the area.

We have scrambled in every way possible to find an alternate location and so far nothing has proved workable for this weekend.

So, where does that leave us? We’re not sure at the moment and we need a little more time to figure things out. Our team is moving ahead full force on two fronts:

One
We are doing everything we can to identify a venue for 600 people for this weekend, if you know of anything that might work (trust us, we’ve tried all the obvious locations), please contact stephen(at)false-profit(dot)com; we have set a deadline of 3pm for ourselves to find and secure a backup venue for Priceless this weekend.

Two
If we postpone the event to a later weekend this summer, our team is working on lining up a kickass party here in the Bay Area for Saturday night, stay tuned for details. We can’t reveal much yet, but trust us, IT’LL BLOW YOUR FRIGGIN’ PANTS OFF. Those of you who have been to False Profit events in the past know that we do not fuck around and Saturday night will be no exception.

Thanks for your patience and support in all this, this is a trying time for everyone involved. We’ll let you know as soon as we reach a decision, which we imagine will be no later than 3:00pm today. Just 3 hours north of San Francisco we will celebrate under the stars surrounded by the majestic Sierra mountains. The beautiful Feather River runs adjacent to the campgrounds and is accessible for rafting and swimming during the days. The event location has plenty of camping under the trees and an old-style saloon for drinks, snacks and water. We strongly encourage you to take one of our buses or share a ride with someone! Saves gas money, easier on the parking, and it’s way more fun.

Please drive carefully and slowly. Enjoy the scenery. Be prepared for holiday weekend traffic.
